I wanted my own space to talk about and show off whatever I want. A place I could add random stuff to and decorate as much I decorate my room. I've been really interested in the early 2000s internet, and how it used to be so commonly used as a place to express yourself through personal websites and customization. Websites like myspace, youtube, and tumblr used to allow a lot more customization options, some even letting people code their own html and css for their profiles. People also used to code their own websites from scratch (similar to what im doing right now) to share with their friends and express themselves. Nowadays, many people know the internet as just a place for big companies to make money, and all the websites I mentioned earlier let you do is change a header image and maybe a color theme at most, making your profile look more corporeal and no different from any other page. With my own personal website, and many others, I hope to express myself through my own means and remind people that the internet is not just a place to consume, but to create too.
